5. Early oil painting on canvas in original gilded period frame;
Probably mid 19th C. It is classical composition of table fruits,
pitcher and glass of wine, berries, basket of cherries and a
fly. Signed in l.r. E. EDGAR. Supplier's stamp on reverse
of canvas: "Prepared by Winsor & Newton, ??? London." Linen
canvas well oxidized, consistent with age. Original stretcher
in very good condition. Painting in very good condition. Rich
craquelure, no flaking of paint, adds to the character of old
painting. Small repair in lower area professionaly mended with
canvas, no other patches. This is very nice, decorative artwork
professionaly done by listed artist.

6. Pennsylvania Dutch folk art watercolor and pen and ink drawing
on paper. This is full sheet hand decorated fraktur of
Henrich Angst family from Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. Dated
1823. Nicely executed with unusual birds and flower vases with
ten segments wheel of fortune decoration. Could not find any
references about the artist in fraktur books so far; research
in progress.

Paul César Helleu (1859-1927), French etcher and painter, best known for his drypoint studies and portraits of fashionable women, which have the spontaneity of rapid sketches. Plate: 21 7/8 " x 13 5/8 ", for framing: 29" x 20 ". Very clean, sharp image, hardly visible remnants of water stain on right side.

9. “WHITE STORK”, Plate XI. Copper plate engraving on J. Whatman paper, dated 1829. Signed in plate P.J. Selby. Dimensions: 25½" x 21¼"; plate: 22” x 16¼”.
Prideaux John Selby: “Illustrations of British Ornithology”.
Considered one of the great masters of bird art of the nineteenth century, P. J. Selby drew most of the birds in this series and did most of the etching himself. W. H. Lizars (who was Audubon's first printer) did the actual printing and supervised the coloring. This series was first issued by subscription in nineteen parts from 1824-1834 on J. Whatman paper.
